Adjusting to Toddler Life

Can we just say it's been a long week?  Liam has decided to get four molars at the same time while going down to one nap a day and adjusting his bedtime by an hour and a half.  As a result, he was up 2-3 times a night.  We've been dealing with a grumpy toddler and a tired mama.  Yes . . . toddler.  He's also walking everywhere.

In the mean time, I haven't had much time to sew and blog.  I usually try to sew at some point in the evenings, but a few times this week, I went to bed almost as soon as Liam was asleep!

As Liam is getting more mobile, I've been thinking more and more about how to make our house more "friendly" for him.  Or, really, create spaces for him.  We live in a small townhouse, so there isn't much room.  There are small changes we can make and I just need to figure out what they are.  He needs a kitchen type space where he can play and take things in and out of cabinets.  What is available besides a kitchen?  And, a small table and chairs.  A visit to Ikea is in order for that one.

Anyone have any suggestions or reference on how to create creative play spaces for a toddler?  He's not quite ready for a writing area, but eventually we'd like to do that.

For now, I'll leave you with a photo of my creative space:
