I need some help

Does anyone know how I can sew through this?

I made Liam a fabric book for his birthday.  I'll give more, full details in another post.  For now, I need to figure out how to sew the pages together.  Before Sunday.  It's about 3/4" thick, which is too thick for my sewing machine.  I tried hand sewing though all the layers with a long darning needle, but that didn't work, either.

One person at work suggested I take it to a shoe shop and have them sew through it with one of their heavy duty machines.

I also just thought about sewing the facing pages together on each side, two at a time.  I might play around with that for a little while.

Any other suggestions?
