Dr. Seuss Quilt Top Done

IMG_2332
The Dr. Seuss quilt top is done.  Plenty of time to do a back and quilt it before the end of May.  The quilt top measures 48.5" square.  Perfect for a baby quilt that is really for a soon-to-be-toddler.  Each square is 12.5" unfinished.

I used this tutorial: Wonky Star Tutorial.  It was very easy to follow.  Wonky stars do require quite a bit of cutting, pressing, more cutting, sewing, etc.  I was able to do some of it in stages, but at the same time didn't want to get too far ahead and wind up with too much of the same print left at the end.

Note to self: get some red fabric for the border.  I'm thinking dots or stripes.  One more thing on the mental to-do list.
